Mr. Mairaj Anees Ariff has recently assumed charge as the Regular Director General of NIM Quetta by the Establishment Division Government of Pakistan. The new DG NIM Quetta belongs to the Secretariat Group of the Civil Service of Pakistan and is a senior BS-21 officer. He has served Pakistan for almost 32 years in various capacities in the Federal and Provincial Governments including Managing Director Pakistan Engineering Company Ltd., CEO Furniture Company of Pakistan, M.D National Fertilizer Marketing Company, Director General Punjab Civil Defence, Director Immigration and Anti Human Trafficking Federal Investigation Agency, Deputy Director Anti-Narcotics Force, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Commerce.
The officer holds a Master Degree in Transnational Crime Prevention with thesis on “Toolkit for Counter-Terrorism Strategy for Pakistan”. His Master’s Thesis was then approved as the foundation of the Government of Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Policy by President (Gen) Pervez Musharraf (later NACTA ACT, 2013). The Director General NIM Quetta also had the privilege of contributing a Research-based Advisory Paper to NSPP on the “Privatization in Pakistan” which was published by National Institute of Public Policy (an integral unit of NSPP) vide NIPP Policy Paper Series title as “Privatization in Pakistan: History, Reforms and Way Forward” and proposed as draft Policy to the Government of Pakistan on Privatization in Pakistan.
